Charlotte mason memory box
He has learned some of the poetry just from listening to his brother. We do work on Bible memory with him and he has done great with that. I wrote about how we do bible memory with our kid here I started using the memory box last year when my son was 7. I will probably wait until then with my second born too. Good luck! What a great idea! I love having memory work as its own subject, but like you said, taking up too much of your day can be a bad thing.
I find we often practice our memory work in the car. I Iove this. We just began homeschooling. I was wondering if it would it be ok to use it with my 11 and 13 year old? I think it would be great to use with your 11 and 13 year olds!

IF you are working on Cycle 1. I am keeping the days in a separated box as I opted to go for a smaller box size that would fit on my Ikea spice rack shelves in the kitchen.
I bought the dividers for my box for Cycle 1 and flipped them upside down so I could write on them , but decided it would be too pricey for every box, so I am planning on using the fancy dividers for the current cycle and index cards for the review cycles.
I had thought about setting up a box like this as well, when L is officially in CC. The scripture memory box that we are using now is working wonderfully. Also, the spice racks are a great idea!!! Thank you for posting this!!! I just set up my box for our first year with CC. Breaking it down into days certainly makes it seem more manageable and less overwhelming!

Love, JO. Jo Hendricks, we love your version of Ephesians 6! This is our 2nd year to use your song to memorize for CC. Thank you! This is great! Thank you for sharing!
Would you like to submit it to this month's carnival? I know many people would benefit from the idea! The solution I found was quite simple! The Scripture Memory Box System. I use The Memory Box System a little differently than is explained on the Simply Charlotte Mason website but perhaps I should explain exactly what this system is first. The amount of index cards you need is totally up to you, as is the dividers.
I wrote the following categories on my divider tabs:. Now, to get yourself set up and rolling, slip some verses your children know behind each slot. Start with verses they know confidently in the back section. As you do Odd, Even, put verses they know, but could use a little work on. It will be easier for you to understand how we use our Memory Box! Each day as we gather around our the table for school we start our day with the Memory Box. I pull it out and read the Bible verse in the daily section.
We start with the Daily tab. Next we move on to the Odd or Even tab. Pretty simple, right? Next we move onto the Days Of The Week , and the tab we do depends on the day of the week.
So easy! As for the final set of tabs: Rather than have 31 tabs back there I decided to go with only 15 tabs plus the extra one for the 31st. You get it now, right? On verses my children are super confident with they will quote them right along with me. Although, sometimes they prefer to say them all on their own.
